About Bentonville Arkansas: Bentonville is the tenth-largest city in Arkansas and the county seat of Benton County. The city is centrally located in the county with Rogers adjacent to the east. The city is the headquarters of Walmart, which is the world's largest retailer. Originally named Osage after the Osage Indians who hunted in the area when white settlers first moved to the area in 1837, the community was renamed to Bentonville in 1843 in honor of Missouri politician Thomas Hart Benton and was first incorporated on April 3, 1873. It is one of the four main cities in the four-county Northwest Arkansas Metro Area, which is ranked 109th in terms of population in the United States.
The Bentonville Town Square is the seat of all that is happening in this vibrant Arkansas city. It is where you can see the humble beginnings of Walmart at Sam Walton's original 5 & 10 store, which is now a local free museum, and then stop for an ice cream cone or sundae at The Spark Cafe. Then you can spend the rest of your stay shopping at the locally owned and operated boutiques and shops all around the square. There are also a growing number of fantastic restaurants, microbreweries and food trucks all over the Bentonville Town Square that you will have to check out. To say the least, this town has something to offer everyone!
Bentonville continues to grow rapidly and is continuing to become progressively known as a travel destination for both art and leisure. With the annual Bentonville Film Festival, highly acclaimed 21C Hotel and world renowned art museum Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville Arkansas is no longer just the town where Sam Walton built his empire, it's a great place to live, raise a family and experience a vast array of culture and arts.
